Follow Me on Pinterest

Its Christmas Eve. The Stockings are filled and presents all wrapped. The table all laid and the potatoes all peeled. Rex is in bed and Morecambe and Wise is on the TV. Time to put my feet up and have some mulled wine.
Wishing you all an amazing and very Merry Christmas and New Year !

One more Jumper and Last Homemade Decoration x

Follow Me on Pinterest

Couldn't resist one last home made decoration for the year a very dapper pom pom snowman.
Plus I'm getting all my Christmas knits out for show this year. So today's little number is a vintage Norwegian knit.
This one is my favourite. But I will probably say that about all of them x

Real Reindeer

Follow Me on Pinterest

We went to see some real reindeer today, I wish we cold have touched them or even better had a sleigh ride pulled by them. But it was magical enough to see Rex mesmerized by them.
We went with two of my lovely friends and their kids and had a yummy breakfast afterwards. What a great way to start the day. Thank you ladies x

How beautiful are these two mummy's x

Paperchain

Follow Me on Pinterest

Little Rex is a bit poorly today so we are avoiding everyone and keeping our germs to ourselves at home. With cabin fever and feeling stir crazy. Rex and I(mostly me really) made some paper chains using some cheap white paper and some pages torn from an old paper back book with a broken spine.
Most of them did end up crushed in a Rex excitement frenzy but I did manage to salvage some for the walls. It is starting to look a bit like Santa's grotto in our house at the moment.

Mama Style

I love this jumper dress as its a great throw on all in one outfit. Plus it's got knitted braces ! couldn't resist adding a bow tie. This I feel is an 80's piece at its best and I think its a bit like a Sonia Rykiel style knit.

Doilie Snowflakes

Follow Me on Pinterest

Another collection of mine ! I love a doilie but they always seem to look a bit grannyish on table tops. But had a brainwave and thought they are so pretty when you hold them up to the light.
They reminded me of paper snowflakes so thought why not stick them onto the window. They seem to take on a bit more of a contemporary look this way.

Rex's Stocking

Follow Me on Pinterest

Over the last couple of days I have managed at last to finish Rex's Christmas stocking. It was surprisingly quick and easy to make. I first cut a shape of a stocking out in paper. Then pinned that to some fabric folded in two. Cut round the shape, unpin and stitch together. Then cut out Rex's R in felt and stitched on.
I'm so pleased I made one as I hope he will keep hold of it for a very long time. All we need now is Father Christmas to fill it up.

Twinkling Twigs

Follow Me on Pinterest

I've nearly used up all of my foraged Christmas foliage. But this was always supposed to be the piece de resistance for the table for Christmas dinner. In a nutshell its just some sprayed twigs and then adorned with of course some homemade pompom's, snowflakes, candy canes and crystals. Plus a few little Christmas reindeer decorations from my amazing mother in law. She knows me too well, thank you Chris x
I've always loved a sprayed twig with lovely stuff dripping from its branches. Its a good centerpiece for any time of year. It's also a great alternative to a tree. I think this might become a permanent fixture.

Homemade Cosy Chic

Follow Me on Pinterest

I love candles they turn any room into a cosy nest and makes it feel festive. So I decided to use some old jam jars and then stuck some home made paper snowflakes onto the front. The lovely thing about the snowflake on the front is that the light shimmers through all the little holes in the dark.

Decorating my self

Follow Me on Pinterest

I decided today to also decorate myself like a Christmas tree with a small collection of my vintage broaches. Once I started I couldn't stop, but thought they looked great as a cluster.

The Christmas Tree

Follow Me on Pinterest

We went to choose our Christmas tree this weekend which Rex very kindly helped push to the car. It was like a huge walker for him and made us laugh so much. So the tree is now up and we seem to have lost most of our decorations since moving in. So the tree's looking a bit bald. Though I'm sure it will be dripping with nick knacks by Christmas.

Ho Ho Ho Bunting

Follow Me on Pinterest

A continuation from the boo bunting from Halloween. I've now made some Ho Ho Ho bunting as part of the DIY Christmas decorations. They are so easy to make with just red and white card, ribbon and a few wooden beads. The letters are just printed and then just cut out and stuck on. Even Rex's rocking reindeer looks great as part of the dec's, this was from Ikea.

Pretty Useful

Follow Me on Pinterest

Here's a little collection of lovely things I have found recently. Useful and beautiful on the eye, always important.

A little mug for Rex to eventually use or break, as he is obsessed with coffee at the moment. Probably as he sees me drinking it all day.I found this at a car boot sale in Wales.

cath kidston melemine foodThis is so useful. My husband says it looks like I'm feeding aeroplane food to Rex. But Rex seems to like it. This is from Cath Kidston.

A glam temperature gauge in the shape of the Eiffel tower. I love anything that is in the shape of the Eiffel tower, its one of my collecting passions.

A little stool which doesn't get much sitting on it just gets thrown and pushed around the room.
This was also a fab find at the welsh boot sale.
