Pretty Useful

Follow Me on Pinterest

Here's a little collection of lovely things I have found recently. Useful and beautiful on the eye, always important.

A little mug for Rex to eventually use or break, as he is obsessed with coffee at the moment. Probably as he sees me drinking it all day.I found this at a car boot sale in Wales.

cath kidston melemine foodThis is so useful. My husband says it looks like I'm feeding aeroplane food to Rex. But Rex seems to like it. This is from Cath Kidston.

A glam temperature gauge in the shape of the Eiffel tower. I love anything that is in the shape of the Eiffel tower, its one of my collecting passions.

A little stool which doesn't get much sitting on it just gets thrown and pushed around the room.
This was also a fab find at the welsh boot sale.

Mama Style

How beautiful are the colours in this vintage wrap skirt that can also double up as a cape for a bit of evening glam.
I thought I would toughen it up a bit with some biker boots from Office. Which are such a good buy and have hardly left my feet since I bought them. I love them with floaty dresses, skinny jeans in fact anything. They make my outfits a bit more daytime and casual which is a good thing as I can get a bit overexcited with my outfits. So these play them down a bit x

Twig Heart

So the decorations are under way. I created this heart twig wreath with some of my spoils I collected the other day up on Box Hill.
Of course I added a few pompoms as I thought it was a nod to my pom pom flowers from a while back. It also looks a little like little snow balls have landed on the branches.
To create the heart was really easy and simple and is held in place with ribbon. To pull the centre of heart down in the middle I used some cotton which is attached to the bottom point.

Weekend DIY

Follow Me on Pinterest

I managed to fit in a bit of DIY this weekend. I have been wanting to paint these chairs for ages. They were just looking so sad and dull in amoungst the explosion of colour that surrounds them. So with a quick sand down and a lick of bright tomato red paint they have been given a new lease of life in time for Christmas.
3 done 2 more to go!

Sad little chair before.

A much happier chair after.

Rex's Room

Follow Me on Pinterest

Thought I would carry on with the home tour and show you one of my faveourite rooms of the house, master Rex's bedroom. I love his stripey ceiling but it didnt half give me arm and neck ache painting it.This ceiling also has been patched two times as we kept putting our foot through it when we were fixing the loft.
The victorian desk was a christening pressie that Phil A.K.A Daddy found and the sun light was from Ikea.
This room was also my room when I was Rex's age so it is even more special. The little hatch in the ceiling is so odd and I have no idea why it is there. But it always makes me smile as it is like a child size loft hatch.

Collecting Christmas Foliage

Follow Me on Pinterest

Yesterday was such a beautiful day. Not only was the sun shining but I got to spend the day with my little family. The hubbie had a day off at last yay ! So we went to Box Hill in Surrey which is so beautiful. Especially with the coloured leaves still clinging onto the trees, not yet ready to surrender themselves to the winter. My mission also was to collect some winter foliage for the start of my Christmas nature decorations. I will post the pics soon of the creations.

How amazing and had a tree growing up through the middle of it.

Rex loved the texture and colours of the tower wall and so did I.
