Wardrobe Recycle

Follow Me on Pinterest

I am still on the de-cluttering mission at home, trying to get rid of stuff I haven't worn in ages. In the process I came across this Aztec printed beauty buried in the depths of the wardrobe that I haven't ever worn. I fell in love with the colours and the print but it is even too 80's for me. I would look like John Collins on a Mexican cruise no matter how I styled it !
I couldn't bear to part with it so I thought why not recycle it and turn it into a high waisted skirt instead that I could then wear winter or summer.
All I did was so easy, cut the top off and stitched the waist up.
A new skirt which I love out old a dress Ive never worn and saved a tiny bit of space in the wardrobe?!
New from the old Brilliant x

Monkeying Around London Town

Follow Me on Pinterest

Yesterday felt like the perfect day. The sun was shining and it was the perfect day to walk around the south bank, en route to having Lunch on Millbank with my two beautiful girlfriends and their babies x Rex loved Big Ben and pointed at it saying tick tock ! which was very cute.
Big Ben and the houses of parliament even though I have seen them a million times still take my breath away. The views from all the bridges crossing over from the south bank are breathtaking. Its so lovely to be a tourist in your own neck of the woods. We also found the best kiddies park with a view on Millbank.

Love a leopard

Love a leopard and a leopard print, so when I saw this 70's dress I almost jumped for joy and grabbed it off the rail so fast. I love it with the leopard print boots too and my tiger pendant. My rules are you can never have too much animal print. I am a bit verging on Bet Lynch sometimes x

DIY fun with Food

Follow Me on Pinterest

A very quick DIY project I made this weekend for Rex was a very cheap one too.
Ive been eyeing up a Mr Food Plate for ages as I love them, a genius idea. But thought why not just make one and save a bit of dosh instead. So I bought 2 plain plates from a charity shop for 50p each and a porcelain pen. I then drew a face on each of them. I did think afterwards an animal face like a lion could be quite cool too, but decided upon making a MR and Mrs to start with.
Great thing too as they are so cheap to make I won't be too distraught if one lands on the floor, like most of Rex's tableware.

Weather Pillows

Follow Me on Pinterest

It all started with one of my favourite knits. I saw this jumper dress and fell in love with it. It took me back to watching Wincey Willis doing the weather in her crazy knits when I was a little girl. Back in the day when the weather man or woman used to stick large clouds and sun's over the big map of England. As a little girl I dreamt of being a weather girl for a long long time.
That didn't work out x So I decided to recreate that sense of large weather icons out of old knits for Rex to play with. Stuffed to look like weather cushions great to play with or cuddle up to.
Soon be available to buy on the future Katthiskatthat online shop watch this space ! x

Yellow in the snow

Follow Me on Pinterest

I'm over the weather and winter in general. I am not a winter person at all apart from Christmas of course. I find this time of year really hard to keep my chin up and not slip into the doom and gloom that is also reflected back at me in the weather. It's also been a tough week here as Rex has been teething so bad and has had bad side effects from his jabs. But today there is a silver lining as Rex has perked up and that has made me smile through the bags under my eyes from lack of sleep ! But also how could you not smile when you look at these gorgeous daffodils that were a birthday gift. My favourite flower and one of my favourite colours. So I was inspired by the daffs this morning and put on my yellow 70's dress. Full of static and rides up my body constantly but I love it. Onwards and Upwards, Bring on spring ! x
