Puuuurrrrrfect Shoe

Follow Me on Pinterest

These shoes really are the cats whiskers and I feel like the Kat that's got the cream. (sorry couldn't resist all the puns x) They are also puuuurrrfect for a chic and fun Halloween look.

I would love to have had the Charlotte Olympia ones but that is a pipe dream with a price tag of £465.

But check out these cat slipper shoes by Blink Shoes. I got them from an amazing online store called Shoes GB. Almost identical for just £35, such a bargain and they come in leopard print too.
I definitely will be buying from there again such a fantastic swift service. With a really personal touch of the name of the person that picked my shoes. I really loved that as it always seems so un-personal shopping online.

Military DIY Mama Style

Follow Me on Pinterest

I have been eyeing up all the military inspired goodies on show in the shops recently, especially a great army green shirt with a jewel-encrusted pocket in Zara. Then I saw the price tag and thought I can make one of those and got my DIY hat on.

All you need is an old military shirt from an army surplus store or eBay, which mine is from. Make sure u buy a small 36" or medium 38" as they come up long and boxy.
Then buy whatever sparklers and studs you want to sew on. Alternatively you could just pin a few spangly broaches on for a quick fix. I did both here as I am a more is more kinda lady.
I teamed mine with a brocade skirt (two fashion hits in one), chunky socks and gold shoes.
I feel you have to dress this look up a bit otherwise it turns a bit grungey 90's Nirvana.

You know summer is over when you have to put tights on boooooo !
But on the up side I can put on my new red studded boots. They are a bit Michael Jackson thriller but I love them x

Fishy Fun

Follow Me on Pinterest

Here's a little peek at the fishy fun we had a Rex's 2nd year bash.

Home made personalised Happy Birthday Rex paper bunting.

A spot of fishing.

My 1st attempt ever at a birthday cake, it tasted great but looked a bit wonky and rough round the edges. I remember my mums wonky, lopsided crazy cakes she made for me as a child. So I have decided to carry on the tradition. Rex's eyes lit up when he saw it, or it could of been just the candles x

Fishy Portrait

For a bit of fun I made a fishy "Poke your head through portrait" for Rex's party.
It was a hit with the kids and the big kids/adults alike, in fact I don't know who enjoyed it more.
All you need to make one is a large piece of card and some paint.
Draw your scene and paint it. Then cut oval shaped holes in the card where you would like the head to pop out.

Now who shall I be an octopus or a fish ?

Best Fishes

Follow Me on Pinterest

For Rex's party I decided to make the theme a very fishy affair. So I cut lots of fish shapes out of old cardboard boxes, then Rex and I painted them. I then hung them up with string and stuck them to the ceiling and made a giant octopus for a centrepiece. It made a great underwater scene mixed in with some strips of blue crepe paper.
Some of the colour combinations and textures of the fish were amazing. Especially the ones Rex painted, well I am biased of course, but who knew that finger painted dots make great lifelike fish scales !
